Massachusetts Directory of Educational Collaboratives
Click here, to the directory of collaborative.
The Massachusetts Organization of Educational Collaboratives (MOEC) website list about 30 collaborative in Massachusetts.  The majority of the collaboratives came into existence to address the member school systems' needs for special education or occupational education. The collaboratives assumed first the responsibility for designing, implementing and delivering a menu of programs and services for low-incidence, handicapped populations and student populations in need of career and school-to-work programs.

Under the provisions of Chapter 40 Section 4E of the General Laws of Massachusetts and the Special Education Law mandates that school districts provide appropriate educational services for all students with special needs. Collaboratives allows school districts to plan, develop, and implement programs for special needs children. It enables school districts the opportunity to augment and supplement their special education programs through collaboration with other school districts.
It provides a mechanism for people to share ideas and resources for the purpose of meeting a common need.
